I have seen many crafters and the beautiful results they achieve in their work, and I wonder at the hours and patience put in to create such things. I, too, have spent many happy hours crafting, some with success, some failures, but all have given me great pleasure at seeing the end result.

I am happy to say that two of my grandchildren are enthusiastic at "making things", and they should be proud of their attempts. More so for me, because it means they are not in the grip of the "Playstations and Nintendos" of today.
Below are a few examples of my work for you to see.

"My Son's Wedding Cake"

The church on top of the cake was made from sugar paste. The pieces were cut out and allowed to dry before assembling.

"DECORATED GOOSE EGGS"

The goose eggs are first marked with a pattern. Using a cutter or craft blade, the pattern is cut out, and the egg allowed to run out. Wash the egg, and let it dry. Now, the egg can be painted inside and out. Allow to dry, then decorate with braids, beads,etc. On the inside of the egg, place a small amount of filler, into which you can then add your ornament. Stands can either be bought or made.

I hope sometime to decorate an Ostrich egg. Much more expensive to buy, but I have seen one done, and it is well worth the effort.(Now done! See below)

The three eggs on the left were made by Ryan, aged 9, and the two on the right were made by Ami-Beth, aged 7. What a good job they have both done!

Both Ryan and Ami-Beth are now improving, and this shows in these eggs
